Statkraft Ireland Shortlisted in the Cork Chamber Company of the Year Awards
Statkraft Ireland is proud to announce that it has been shortlisted for the Best International Company award at the 2025 Cork Company of the Year Awards, highlighting its significant contributions to the local economy and investments in Ireland's renewable energy sector.
Statkraft is Europe’s largest generator of renewable energy and since entering the Irish market in 2018, it has made Cork its headquarters and a hub for dynamic business growth, tripling both its workforce and development portfolio in just over six years.
Kevin O'Donovan, Managing Director of Statkraft Ireland, expressed his gratitude for the recognition: "We are honored to be shortlisted for the Best International Company award. This nomination is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our team, as well as our commitment to making a positive impact on the Cork region and beyond. We look forward to continuing our journey towards a sustainable future for Ireland."
Statkraft Ireland has invested over €1 billion in its Irish operations, demonstrating its long-term commitment to the country's renewable energy future. The company is on track to develop 3GW of clean energy projects by 2030, including onshore and offshore wind, solar, battery storage, and grid services.
Last year saw Statkraft complete construction on Ireland’s largest solar farm and will soon complete construction on Ireland’s first four-hour battery project. More recently Statkraft announced plans to build two new grid stability projects which will reduce reliance on fossil fuel solutions. These projects not only contribute to Ireland's energy secure future but also drive economic growth and job creation in the Cork region.
